Announcements for this week

Boys,

Great stuff this week:

 - We need volunteers for this Saturday to help out on a move. And this one's going to earn you extra heaven points! We'll be better at moving than this guy (see left).

 - The church's head of PR takes on a bigot in the Washington Post. Politics aside on this one, we're very likely to be asked all sorts of oddball and ridiculous questions this election season.

 - We'll have another Music Pick of the Week soon. I'm leaning on Kino to favor us with some of his recent work.

 - We're starting a new section: the Dating Tip of the Week. Believe it or not, the DTOTW is older than any of us in the quorum - it's been around for at least 10 years, possibly as long as there's been dating. Prior to that, it was the Betrothal Tip of the Week (BTOTW) and it wasn't as popular - they tended to sound all the same pretty quickly. When I first entered the quorum, the DTOTW was handled by the Quorum's teachers and was hilarious - it was more like listening to Andy Richter and Conan O'Brien doing "In the year 2000". Perhaps this revival will also bring a renewed sense of purpose with it. Or we could just make it funnier.

 - Mark Abersold gets married on Friday. Any takers for Dodgeball on Friday night?

  1. The DTOTW is not 10 years old. Maybe 7. I was in the ward a few years before Michael Hammond starting sharing with the Elders' dating tips.

I also moved into the before we started welcoming in new Elders' like we currently do. I've been a member of the ward a long time.
